Silicone coated glassfiber fabrics for industrial insulation and fire/smoke protection are made from alkali -free E-glass fiber yarns which loomstate fabric can resist 550°C/1022°F. For the production of silicone coated fiberglass fabric, the glass yarns is in a filament diameter of 9 µm. Then it has been coated or impregnated with a black silicone/rubber on one side or both sides. This rubber coated fiber glass fabric is very flexible but also high strength. It combines the high strength of e-glass fiber glass cloth and chemical resistance of silicone coating, which make the coated cloth have advantages such as stable dimension, tear resistance and electrical insulation.
The uncoated basic fiberglass fabric 3732 can resist temperature below 550℃. But the rubber/silicone coating can resist 260 degree Celsius. And base on the features of silicone coating and basic fiberglass fabric, application of silicone coated fiberglass cloth are mainly for thermal insulation and electrical insulation, such as fire blankets/curtains/gloves, fabric expansion joints, thermal insulation exhaust blanket for pump/pipeline and other fire fighting equipments.
